Happy new year, everyone! I’m ready to enjoy an awesome year of the rabbit, because buns are the best and much cuter than rats let’s just be honest. Another month, another calendar. Not quite full every day of the month, as you can see here. But there’s a lot of good stuff, so let’s get into it. First, you’ll see Words of Power is…

Hey everyone, quick announcement here. Just thought some of you might be interested to know that I’d written another Friendship is Optimal story! The research side of this one consumed more time than I’ve ever spent on one of these, which is why it took me so long to put together. The attentive among you might pick out a few familiar faces among the…

Hey all, I just wanted to put out one last reminder that the Message in a Bottle Act 2 fundraiser is nearly complete. For anyone who didn’t get a chance to get the last one, or who wants a copy of book two, you have about five days from the moment I’m posting this to make that choice! If you haven’t taken the time…

Hey ponies, quick one here. I’ve got a new story that’s probably out by the time you’re reading this! Why not check it out? https://www.fimfiction.net/story/431716/elements-of-harmony [Image unavailable: original image] Elements of Harmony explores what might’ve happened with the season five finale, if instead of spending a minute or two in each of the alternate worlds, if Twilight was trapped in the collision of all…

First thing’s first, check out this awesome picture Zutcha did of James! Now maybe people won’t think that she’s a clone of Lightning Dust. I put it into the story too, but that won’t stop any past misunderstandings from having been made. Holy crap, what a week. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a story get so much attention, paticularly one that had just…

I promise to pour every bit of love and effort I put into MLA into this new adventure.

Hey pones! Let’s get quick. Not a lot of new stuff this month. Still on the job hunt. Got to do some fun stuff lately–really happy about how those projects are going, but I’m not sure if anyone would care, so I won’t waste your time. I’ll just stay on topic. Nothing new right now. I guess I do have one question: would anyone…

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven’t had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that’s a good problem to have. Let’s go over this month quick. It’s a month of endings, for several different stories that have been with us…

Many of you know I’ve been writing in the Friendship is Optimal universe for years now. I’ve explored some fun ideas in all that time, eventually writing 250,000 words of short stories, and one novel. I felt like all those stories would make for good candidates for a hardcover, and finally had the time to put them all together! If you’d like a copy,…

This state of the scribe will be separated into two parts–the usual updates on the calendar for the upcoming month, then a few thoughts from me about my work here on Fimfiction in general. But we’re getting hit with so many new stories this month that I thought it would be better to put my more general thoughts into its own entry. Expect that…
